Travel ban (2017) - Together with my former law partner, I had the privilege of (1) being in the first wave of attorneys to arrive at IAH the night the ban went into effect, (2) liaising with HPD on-site (who represented they would not arrest us for providing volunteer legal services), (3) identifying persons requiring legal assistance, (4) introducing such persons to counsel and translators, (5) securing remote volunteer on-demand translators that night for both Arabic and Urdu, (6) coordinating with attorneys and affected persons at the airport and in various states to secure necessary counsel (which we did not provide), and (7) hosting (but not presenting) a training for attorneys and others concerning relevant laws and best ways to assist.

Hurricane Harvey volunteer: aided in collection, organization, and distribution efforts at Eureka Heights; provided legal counsel at the Brown Convention Center through Houston Volunteer Lawyers
